Former Tynecastle High School (Edinburgh, Scotland)
The old Tynecastle High School was running for 98 years after being established in 1912. It is a B listed building based in Edinburgh and has not since been redeveloped. In 2009, the former school relocated to a new building across the road. There are controversial building plans however no noticeable changes have been made. The plan is to partly demolish and convert the building to student flats accommodating 468 students and it was given the go-ahead approval from officials.
Complete overgrown grass covers the ground outside the magnificent historic building. The history is practically beaming through the old walls. There is reinforced security around the perimeter of the desolate site warding off any trespassers. We did not make entry into the actual building however managed to capture great shots of the striking grounds including eerie school shoes left lying as if the place was emptied in a hurry.
