Derelict General Hospital (Midlands, England)
The hospital, which is situated in Birmingham, closed in 2011 after being opened in 1897. It was managed by the NHS and functioned as a general hospital after being originally selected for the construction of the new King's Norton Union Workhouse.
The place opened as a workhouse infirmary in September 1897 and accommodated an average of 300 patients. The former hospital transferred to the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital after providing care for patients for around 140 years. The site had planning permission for 650 homes after it would be demolished.
The exploration of this site was interesting to see with its crumbling stairs, weak and unstable floorboards, and an unspeakable spooky atmosphere at night.
