Music artist, Lord Vizion, shares his vision on the world in his new ‘Beautiful Music’ album
He is from a small town but he has been blessed with big talent. Lord Vizion takes the stage with his brand new inspirational album called ‘Beautiful Music’ released early of the year 2018.
Musician Lord Vizion from Jackson, Georgia, graduated from Jackson High School and obtained a degree in Communications from Gordon State College. The artist always had music in his heart and was inspired by his cousin’s rapping, “I remember I used to steal all of my cousin’s Lil Boosie CDs just so I could listen to them” he recalls.
Lord Vizion reveals that growing up in a single-parent household, his mother has always been his inspiration. Legendary artists including Lauryn Hill have also had a huge impact on his life. The music artist claims that anyone who knows him is aware that he holds Lauryn Hill on a pedestal, as he comments that “her passion for transparency was impeccable”. According to Lord Vizion, she is “a gift” and he rates her as a musician due to her ability to overcome the struggles in her life and for what she taught the world.
Song-writing remains Lord Vizion’s pride and joy, as he demonstrates his writing abilities time and time again. Various situations differ the inspiration for his lyrics. “Redemption” is revealed as a true story and Lord Vizion states that the inspiration behind the song was “mistakes that I made with women in my past”. A great track called “Pay Homage” is evidently based on paying homage to those who have influenced him in the love of hip-hop.
Majority of the stories that his lyrics derive from are based on the struggles of females and the ability to still stand afterwards. That’s not to say that men do not form half of the fan base, Lord Vizion reinforces equality by saying “everyone just wants their story to be told and no story is greater than the other”. The listeners are bound to get a sense of release when listening to Lord Vizion’s music, “I put my soul in every track because I know my pain and what I’ve witnessed will help motivate someone to chase their dreams” he clarifies.
The latest album “Beautiful Music” has achieved success and been selling around the world in places like the UK. Many changes occurred during the production of this album but the finished project has been a masterpiece and art to the ears. Initially, Lord Vizion was producing songs purely based on what his audience would want to hear rather than sharing his emotions. A wake-up call from his friends opened up his eyes to what was in front of him and although he admits it was hurtful, he knows he needed the realness. “Beautiful Music” was created throughout a period of nine months which Lord Vizion finds “enlightening and prophetic” and compares that to the time it takes to create a life. One of the songs included in the album called ‘Black Women’ made Lord Vizion realise that music was his calling. After the songs’ initial release in 2015, he remastered the track to perfection to emphasise the importance of the song. “I wanted to create a song that embodies strength and perseverance” he says.
Lord Vizion exploits the reality of racism in United States in his track ‘Gang Gang’, which was written whilst he was at work when all his emotions were channelled into the song. “Let’s about minimum wage and the destruction of power. You mean to tell me that I’m only worth $8 an hour?” – verse 2 of ‘Gang Gang. The portrayal of realness in music is essential to Lord Vizion. The artist has no issue showing the reality of his lifestyle, without exaggerating his wealth as there’s no appearance of handfuls of cash or flashing jewellery. His talent is what makes him unique. “The only leverage I have is that I can rap better than you” said by Lord Vizion.
Having already collaborated with certain members of friends and peers, the artist wishes to perform with fellow musicians such as J Cole, Lauryn Hill and Ed Sheeran. Rapper Lord Vizion fell in love with the art of story-telling in J. Cole’s music and the famous track “Stripper Luv” by Lord Vizion is a continuation track from the song “Vizionary” on his very first mixtape. For Lord Vizion, there is a desire to perform at venues like the Irving Plaza and SOB’s. The other inspirational venues are Madison Square Garden and he believes that the Rolling Loud Festival, “would be a great place to perform at as well”.
As an artist, Lord Vizion faces challenges in his career and he reinforces how hard it can be for a musician to stay true to themselves, especially with society’s expectations in this industry. Already having published a poetry book in 2016 and released his first complete album in 2018, Lord Vizion is striving to the top with his passion in music and writing. In the future, the musician wishes to open up a youth centre and enable individuals to write and publish their own books. Lord Vizion goes onto comment “my goals go beyond just music; I think my gift in music will open up doors that I dreamt about as a kid”.
